Planned route

While not an exhaustive list of our stops. These pages will provide some insight on the start and end points of each section of the journey. This may change frequently as interesting areas are discovered or external factors force us in a different direction.

240.Bob Quinn Lake (CBW4)

We're slowly working our way back to the coast. Only one more Journey flight after this before our upgrades happen. We're stopping today in Bob Quinn Lake. Bob Quinn Lake is a small, remote community and airstrip located in the northwestern region of British Columbia, Canada. Nestled within rugged wilderness, the area serves as a key access point for remote regions of the province, particularly for mining operations and outdoor adventures. Due to its remoteness, Bob Quinn Lake is primarily accessed by air or via the Stewart-Cassiar Highway. Services and amenities are limited, so travelers should be well-prepared with supplies.

Route: CYQH - CYDL - CBM5 - CBW4

241. WrAngell (PAWG)

We're only weeks away from a major update. As we continue on the journey our flight for day 241 will begin at Bob Quinn Lake and finish in Wrangell, Alaska. Wrangell is a charming coastal town located on Wrangell Island in southeastern Alaska, along the Inside Passage. Wrangell is one of the oldest settlements in Alaska. Established as a Russian trading post in 1834, Wrangell later became an American settlement after Alaska was purchased from Russia in 1867. Wrangell experienced rapid growth during the gold rushes of the late 19th century, becoming a key gateway to the Yukon and Klondike regions. Wrangell is surrounded by pristine wilderness, making it a haven for wildlife such as eagles, bears, and salmon. We will be flying amphibious aircraft today. Both heli's and fixed wing are welcomed. Thank you to Mark Hoare for the original flight plan. I've modified things a bit to split the flight into two days. His plan on day 242 will bring us all the way to Stewart, British Columbia. The starting point for MSFS 2024. All scenery for the next two flights is highly recommended.

Route: CBW4 - CAB5 - HSL2 - TWNL - MSUC - PAPG - PLUC - PAFE - KADA - TF12 - DEVE - KAHS - HARV - PAWG

242.STEWART (CZST)

On our final flight in FS2020 we'll be on floats again as we head back into Canada to Stewart, British Columbia. The weather forecast isn't great this weekend, so access to GPS would be a bare minimum in this region. Stewart is a picturesque town located at the head of the Portland Canal in northwestern British Columbia, near the Alaska border. Surrounded by stunning mountains, glaciers, and dense forests, Stewart is one of the northernmost ice-free ports in North America. Stewart was founded in the early 1900s during a gold rush that brought prospectors and settlers to the region. Stewart offers stunning views of glaciers, including the Bear Glacier, which is easily visible from the road leading into town.
